Everywhere you look the excitement of the holidays is in the air. The lights, parties, music and shopping make the holiday season a busy and joyous time for most. Yet for people dealing with depression, the holiday season can be a time of sadness underscored with a feeling of separation from the mainstream world that’s enjoying the celebration of the season. The Consumer Team radio program will examine holiday depression during a segment to be broadcast Saturday, December 22nd at 6PM Central on 1080 KRLD Radio. The special segment will feature an interview with Tom Nelson, pastor of Denton Bible Church (Denton, Texas).
Pete Thomson, host of The Consumer Team, said the segment is meant to address not just the problem but also potential solutions for people dealing with depression. Thomson said, “Tom Nelson can speak with a great deal of credibility and authority on depression. About 7 years ago, Tom dealt with severe depression that preventing him from working as a pastor for a period of time. Through the healing process that Tom Nelson went through, he has a unique understanding regarding the journey that a depressed person is on.
