(DALLAS-FT. WORTH, TX)   The Consumer Team talk radio program will air a special segment on Robocalls on Saturday, April 4, 2015.   Christina Tetreault, a staff attorney with Consumer’s Union, will be a featured guest for the program.   Commenting on the program, Consumer Team host Pete Thomson said, “The research from Consumer’s Union will open your eyes regarding the severity of this issue.  Robocalls not only harass consumers, they also cost us money because they’re often promoting scams.   The interview with Christian Tetreault will define the robocall issue and also outline ways that consumers can fight back through a program that Consumer’s Union is coordinating.”theconsumerteam

According to Consumer’s Union, companies that are using robocalls regularly call consumers from the national ‘Do Not Call’ list.  Thomson added, “I was surprised at the number of large companies that are using robocalls to harass consumers.  In many cases, the Do Not Call list is being disregarded.   Thankfully, Consumer’s Union is fighting for the consumer in the area of robocalls.  On Saturday’s broadcast we’ll outline a new Consumer’s Union initiative that is designed to put pressure on robocall violators.”

Thomson called the Consumer’s Union-Robocall initiative important and something that consumers need to engage.  He added, “We’ll be discussing several ways that consumers can fight back against robocalls, including an online petition that Consumer’s Union has organized.”

The Consumer Team with Pete Thomson is broadcast Saturdays from 5-7 PM Central on 1080 KRLD.   The Consumer Team is produced by McQ Media Inc, Dallas, Texas.
