West Nile Alert….How to Protect Yourself

The Consumer Team talk radio program will be featuring a special broadcast regarding the recent increase in West Nile Virus in the North Texas area.   Entomologist Patrick Prather, President of Rid All Pest of Ft. Worth will be a featured guest on the program, which will be broadcast Saturday, July 14 from 2-4 PM (Central) on 570 KLIF Radio.

West Nile Virus...Confirmed Cases Are Increasing

Pete Thomson, host of The Consumer Team, commented on the West Nile special broadcast.  “Patrick Prather is recognized as one of the most knowledgeable authorities on mosquito control and West Nile Virus.   His company consults municipalities regarding mosquito control and West Nile.  The fact that Patrick is an entomologist gives him an ability to offer an educated and well researched perspective on insects and West Nile Virus.  His input will be very valuable on this Saturday’s Consumer Team.”

According to health officials, West Nile Virus is a potentially serious virus that effects the central nervous system.  Symptoms include headache, nausea, vomiting, body aches, swollen lymph nodes and skin rash.

Thomson added that The Consumer Team will feature tips for homeowners regarding how to safely and effectively control mosquitoes as well as how to minimize chances of being infected by West Nile Virus.
