(DALLAS-FT. WORTH, TX) BioTE Medical has been presented the CISQUA Award by The Consumer Team for pioneering best practices in the field of natural hormone replacment for men and women. Pete Thomson, founder/CEO of The Consumer Team, announced the award today. The CISQUA Award recognizes exemplary corporate performance in areas of integrity, service, quality and accountability.
Dr. Gary Donovitz, founder and medical director of BioTE Medical, commented on the award. He said, “We’re honored to receive this recognition. The Consumer Team has a reputation for being very selective regarding the companies that they endorse and we’re thrilled to receive The CISQUA Award.
Pete Thomson said The CISQUA Award presented to BioTE Medical reflects the contributions that the company has made in the field of natural testosterone replacement. Thomson added, “Hormone replacement and specifically testosterone replacement therapy are hot topics for consumers right now. We believe that BioTE Medical’s all natural approach to hormone replacement is the safest and most effective way for both men and women to balance hormones. Because of the significant issues that accompany the use of synthetic hormones, we believe that consumers need to understand how the natural approach used by BioTE Medical can be beneficial and very different than synthetic therapies.”
Thomson said that the marketplace is generally very confused about hormone replacement therapy, largely because of inaccurate media coverage. He added, “The media understands half the story, which is that synthetic hormones, the ones you see advertised heavily on television, have a long list of negative side effects. However, they haven’t grasped the difference between synthetic and natural hormones.”
Dr. Donovitz cited numerous research studies that support the use of natural testosterone replacement. He added, “There are years of research and studies that support natural hormone replacement therapy. In fact, we have multiple studies that show that bio-identical hormone replacement therapy is protective to the prostate, heart, brain and breast. The benefits to the patients, both men and women, allow for healthier lives as people age and they require fewer drugs for disease management.”
The growth of BioTE Medical has been steady and impressive. According to BioTE Medical’s COO, Dan DeNeui, the company has grown to over 500 certified practitioners in 26 states. DeNeui said, “Our growth has been exciting. People are experiencing better health. Plus, our practitioners, many of whom have been frustrated by the limitations of managed care, are excited to be able to offer the great benefits of BioTE to their patients.”
Beyond the advantages of BioTE’s natural approach to hormone therapy, Thomson cited their organization and network of medical practitioners as major assets. He said, “BioTE Medical’s commitment to on-going training is very impressive. And, the quality of physicians utilizing the BioTE Method in their practice is outstanding.”
(DALLAS-FT. WORTH, TX) New healthcare laws have brought much uncertainty to consumers, especially retirees. According to consumer advocacy journalist and radio host Pete Thomson, new scams are surfacing that are taking advantage of the uncertainty in the marketplace. Thomson’s weekly radio program, which airs on CBS Radio’s KRLD in Dallas, will focus on healthcare scams on Saturday, July 27, 2013 from 5-7PM (Central).
Thomson said that the new healthcare scams are reaching consumers primarily through the internet and telemarketing. He added, “Scammers are targeting seniors. They’ll often call or email, claiming to be with the federal government, and say they need to confirm a social security number. Other times they’ll call offering a special deal on low cost healthcare coverage. The scammers are always looking for personal information that they can turn into cash.”
Thomson claims that the uncertainty surrounding healthcare is helping the scammers succeed. He said, “Our nation’s healthcare system is about to be in transition and people, especially retirees, are concerned about the future of their healthcare. The people behind the scams love this uncertainty. They’re selling security and solutions in a very uncertain environment.”
According to Thomson, the first line of defense again healthcare scams is to simply hang up or delete the email. Beyond that, he says, reaching out to seniors who are isolated is very important. Thomson added, “Seniors often become isolated from the mainstream marketplace. We believe that reaching out to seniors in our families and neighborhoods is an important part of defeating this type of crime.”
Thomson credited Consumer Team New York City reporter Ernie Sprance for his contributions to the special coverage on healthcare scams. He said, “Ernie did an outstanding job of digging into this issue. He’ll be filing two different on-air reports on The Consumer Team. After listening to this information, listeners will be better prepared to deal with this growing fraud.”
Thomson’s Consumer Team talk radio program is one of the most listened to local programs dealing with consumer news, research, trends and issues. Thomson says that his passion for consumer advocacy started during his childhood growing up in the midwest. Both of his parents were business owners in Charles City, Iowa. According to Thomson, seeing successful business and customer relationships fueled his interest in helping connect consumers with reputable business owners. He said, “Growing up in Charles City, I saw the special relationship that can exist between business and the customer. Our goal on The Consumer Team is to first educate our listeners regarding the issues that can impact their success as a consumer. Beyond that, we strive to connect our listeners with great businesses who truly understand what it means to serve the customer.”
(DALLAS, TX) Americans spend billions annually on technology designed to improve hearing. And as baby boomers have become candidates for hearing aids, there are more makes and models than ever before. The price on custom hearing aids can exceed that of a new car. On Saturday, February 16, 2013, The Consumer Team radio program will air a special segment focusing on getting a better value on hearing aids. The Consumer Team is broadcast from 5-7PM (Central) on 1080 KRLD Radio, Dallas-Ft. Worth.
According to Consumer Team host Pete Thomson, the goal of the segment is to educate the consumer regarding the choices that exist in the marketplace. Thomson commented, “My dad recently spent a considerable sum of money on hearing aids. His experience put this category on my personal radar. When I did some investigation into the hearing aid industry I was amazed to see how expensive the devices are. Hearing aids can cost more than a car.” Thomson added that the pricing in the hearing aid industry didn’t make sense to him. He continued, “The high prices of hearing aids run contrary to the price trend for other technology. Think about it, generally the prices for technology such as cell phones, computers and other electronics is dropping. The pricing model for hearing aids make no sense, especially when you consider that the device basically consists of a speaker, microphone and an amplifier. It should be going down and not up.”
Thomson says that The Consumer Team will have good news for consumers. Thomson said, “Like all consumer items, if you search, there are ways to get a better value for your dollar. On The Consumer Team we will talk about several sources that give consumers much more for their hearing aid dollar.”
The Consumer Team is broadcast from 5-7PM Saturdays on 1080 KRLD in Dallas and Ft. Worth, Texas. KRLD is the leading news station in the Dallas-Ft. Worth market.
